 Mambu Quoi was born in Jo Village in Bomi County Liberia. He got education in Monrovia and followed skill training in masonry by Don Bosco in 1992 and 1 year later Mambu got a specific training in Water and Sanitation by a UNICEF supervisor. In the mean time he started a company, with 3 friends, in WATSAN activities and construction. During the 14 years of civil war that started in December 1989, Mambu was not able to leave Liberia. After the war he got a vision that he need to help rebuilt destroyed Liberia by training ex-child soldiers and war effected youth in Water and Sanitation and masonry activities.
Anneke, coming from Papendrecht, the Netherlands, went to business school and worked since 1991 in Israel, Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Syria and Irak. She came on Christmas Eve 2003 for a ZOA/Medair/Cord Emergency program to Liberia. During her stay in Monrovia she met Mambu when he came to fix the well in the ZOA compound.
